Terms of service

Living Verses is provided by Michael Clarke, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at livingverses101@gmail.com. Using the service means accepting these terms.

• — Free — writing clippings, collections, boards, PDF export and publishing public pages. Your archive is stored on your own device.
• — Plus — everything above, plus your archive stored with your account and synced between your devices.

Prices are shown before you pay and include any tax that applies. We may change prices for future billing periods, but never for a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you beforehand.

Everything you write and photograph remains yours. We claim no ownership of it and no right to use it beyond what is technically necessary to provide the service — storing it, showing it back to you, and publishing the specific pages you choose to publish.

You are responsible for having the right to photograph and publish what you upload. Publishing a page makes that copy readable by anyone with the link.

• — Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• — Cancel at any time from the Billing tab in the app. You keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• — We do not pro-rate part-months, and cancelling partway through a period does not trigger a refund of that period.

Your statutory rights. As a consumer you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a purchase. Because Plus begins immediately, you are asked to agree that the service starts at once, which means that right ends once it has. If something is genuinely wrong, write to us — we would rather refund you than argue.

Nothing of yours is deleted when a subscription ends. Syncing stops and your archive stays on your devices.

The copy held on our servers is kept for 60 days, so you can open the app on any device and download it. We will email you before it is removed. After 60 days that server copy is deleted; published pages and the copies on your own devices are unaffected.

You agree not to use Living Verses to publish or store:

• — Anything unlawful, or material you have no right to reproduce
• — Anything intended to harass, threaten or defame someone
• — Material that is obscene or sexualises children

We may remove published pages that breach this, or close accounts that do so repeatedly or seriously. Where an account is closed for this reason you will still be given a reasonable opportunity to export your own work, unless the law prevents it.

Living Verses is provided as it is. We work to keep it running but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. If we ever discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice and time to export your work.

Because your archive is stored on your own device first, the app keeps working when ours does not.

Plus includes a backup, but you should not treat it as your only one. Use Export PDF for anything you would be upset to lose. We are not liable for data loss where you have not kept your own copy of work that mattered to you.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

If you are a consumer, your statutory rights under UK consumer law are unaffected by anything in these terms.

You can stop using Living Verses whenever you like. To have your account and its data deleted, email us from the address on the account. See the privacy notice for what is kept and for how long.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app before they take effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting them.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes fall to the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
